Are you looking for powerpoint alternative for presentations?
PowerPoint has become the default software when it comes to digital presentations. Being the most common type of slideshow presentation tool, many teachers prefer to use it. Why not, it is easy to use and it has a lot of handy features that make presentations simple.
However, there are many similar programs available on the market for FREE and make a better alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint when it comes to the presentation quality and interactivity.

Nearpod and Pear Deck

Nearpod and Pear Deck are very similar to a slide show, like PowerPoint or Google Slides. But instead of just static, informational slides, you can make interactive slides that let every student participate in your questions or prompts, right from their own devices.
Both apps’ concept is simple. A teacher can create presentations that can contain Quizzes, Polls, Videos, Images, Drawing-Boards, Web Content and so on. When you present your slides, you will get a unique code for students to use to join your presentation from their phone or computer. It is up to the teacher to then move the class through the presentation and let them interact with the media as they go.

Both have FREE versions as well which allow you to create polls, interactive quizzes, open-ended questions, beautiful slideshows. Nearpod has a limited storage of 50MB which, in my experience, is enough for about 10 fabulous presentations! On the other hand, Pear Deck stores all your presentations in Google Drive which means you will have unlimited space for all your Pear Decks.
PresentationTube

PresentationTube Recorder is a powerpoint alternative that helps you to record and share quality video presentations in a new way. The video recorder allows you to narrate and annotate PowerPoint slides and computer screen and synchronize a variety of essential visual media, including webcam video, whiteboard, Web browser, and YouTube video.
The whiteboard, for example, helps you to type text while presenting using the keyboard and mouse making it an ideal tool to add more details, or explain equations using words, numbers, and symbols.
The FREE version is fully working with Unlimited video uploading and streaming. It allows you to record your video presentation and combine both the video and slides in one file, and make it ready for uploading and sharing via PresentationTube platform. The video output format is ASF which is uploaded and shared via PresentationTube only.
Haiku Deck

Simply put, Haiku Deck is a fast and easy way of creating beautiful presentations on the web, iPad or phone. Since I started using it, they have expanded their choices of photos from their gallery. You can now take advantage of a library of over 40 million free images to use as backgrounds and it features simple, elegant themes and layouts to keep your presentation looking attractive and entertaining. It’s like a PowerPoint on steroids!
The FREE version enables you to make up to three presentations that are shared publicly and are searchable on the web.
Prezi

Have you ever sat through a really boring presentation and felt like you learned nothing? Prezi, the mother of PowerPoint alternatives, is here to change that!
Unlike slides, which literally box you in, Prezi gives you a limitless zoomable canvas and the ability to show relationships between the big picture and fine details. Prezi uses the concept of Pathway Points instead of slides to give the visual cinematic appeal of their presentations. This added depth and context makes your message more likely to resonate, motivate, and get remembered, whether it’s a classroom lecture or a TED Talk to the world’s foremost thinkers.
The FREE version lets you create, share, and store beautiful presentations online that anyone can view.
